All Wax Throwdown - Just B x D.O.H. x Shua

Updated: Feb 20, 2019

It's that time of the month again when BOD reps some of the illest talent coming out of the DNVR scene live on Bombus Radio. The Hump Day Hustle show was held down once again by two of D-town's finest along side the BOD resident DJ, Shua. I love doing the live show because not only do I get a chance to see artists that I respect do their thing live in the studio but I also get to blast all that bass heavy goodness to the masses over the Bombus airways. Knowing that I'm pushing vibes that can be picked up by anyone on the planet with an internet connection and a thirst for fresh bass makes me feel like I'm achieving one of my goals; helping to share Denver's vast pool of talent with the world.

This week, I was grateful to welcome another one of my good homies to the lab along with another Denver vet making waves in the scene. I love it when a plan comes together perfectly and it couldn't have gone better this month when everybody on deck was fully on board for an all vinyl set. Sometimes I forget how crystal clear the beats come through the speakers when the tracks are spun on vinyl. Everyone brought a crate full of eclectic selections that rattled the walls of the studio just as expected. Your ears will not be disappointed!

First up, Just B heats up the booth with a fresh old school breaks set that rolled over the monitors perfectly and got the night going properly. He came to hold it down for OVRDUB and Mothership and he def brought the heat. He dropped some gems that I hadn't heard in years but also put me on to some freshness with that elegant vinyl quality sound. After that, D.O.H unloaded his bass cannon. He represented for Freebass properly and kept the vibe going strong with his unique style and expert level mixing skills. It gave me the same vibe I get whenever I've seen him live in one of Denver's underground warehouse spots or over the Funktion Ones at one of the Freebass takeovers of the Lounge at the legendary Beta Nightclub. Last but not least I closed out another successful show with Shua behind the decks. Being able to do the live shows with my very close friend and artist who I have massive amounts of respect for has been an absolute pleasure.

Huge shout out to Just B, D.O.H., and Shua for checking in with Bass'D out DNVR for the love of bass. The full broadcast is up now on my Mixcloud page (or embedded below) for your listening pleasure.
